So, lot’s of stuff has been going on lately. This past month I was negotiating a contract that I probably shouldn’t have bothered with. Problem was, it was my job that I was negotiating. Since it had taken more than 2 weeks, I decided to hit the job market again, which is never fun.
In the meantime, I had no paycheck and no money coming in so I couldn’t justify going to train 3 nights a week. Instead I’ve spent the last 3 weeks doing freelance work and now I can tell.
So I got a great new job and decided it was ok to go train last night. Aside from gaining back about 5 lbs, I was ridiculously winded. Even though I stretched and we had a nice long class, I popped my knee trying to set up an omoplata. Granted, that was my fault. I was way off angle and grabbed my foot but it’s those little details that become second nature when you train regularly.
I have also been thinking that when I train, I just need to try more things, even if it gets me caught and submitted. Im not competing yet so I should try for more submissions rather than trying to win.
Sometimes its just hard to lose, even in training. So from now on my motto is ‘Just Do It’. O.K., so that’s Nike’s thing. I’m still going to use it.

goodluck for you, hope you will be happy with your new job!
Hey King,
Sorry for taking so long to respond. I am indeed liking my new job. Its a good mix of what I like to do and the company and people are great. The one downfall is that I have been missing ALOT of training time. I just got back in class tonight and had a really good night, so I am working my schedule to get at least 3 days a week from now on. So, I should be posting more.
